About Us

Integrative Psychiatry of NY is a professional entity dedicated to optimizing available treatments in psychiatry and medicine. Integrative psychiatry is an approach to mental illness that encompasses both conventional and complementary medicine. Modern medicine is increasingly hyper-specialized and the interconnection between body, brain, and mind is often forgotten. Our mission is to address this aspect by employing a responsible, scientific, and clinically useful manner. The stigma of mental illness has no place in the 21st century.

While psychiatry was mainly analytically oriented at its inception, over the past century it emerged as a sofisticated and biologically oriented disccipline. A culmination of this is the emergence of Theranostics during the past decade. Theranostics represents a personalized medicine through molecular diagnostics. The search for markers for disease subtypes and more personalized treatment responses has been accelerated through Pharmacogenomics which is the study of how genes affect a person's response to drugs.

We provide a variety of therapeutic interventions which include medication management, cutting edge treatment options, and individual therapy in a responsible, scientifically, and clinically useful manner.

Office Policies:

Upon your initial contact of the office, a brief telephone screening will be conducted. On arrival to Integrative Psychiatry of NY, you will be asked to complete and sign several forms including patient registration, an informed consent form, a HIPAA form, a personal medical and psychiatric history form, patient acknowledgment of advice regarding substance use, and a questionnaire. Please arrive 20 minutes prior to your first appointment in order to complete these forms. We strongly urge you to bring a copy of your most recent blood and urine laboratory tests, electrocardiogram, and physical examination records to your first appointment. Otherwise, we may ask you to sign a release form in order for us to exchange information with your current/previous provider(s) as necessary. Please provide 24 hour notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment and please note that you will be expected to pay for your appointment in full unless you provide 24 hours advance notice of cancellation.

The initial evaluation will last 45 minutes, and includes a full psychiatric assessment, relevant psychiatric grading/rating scales, evaluation of previous records, review of medical/family history, and consultation with referring physicians and other treatment providers. The evaluation can serve as a second opinion for patients if referred by another psychiatric practice.

Payment Information:

Integrative Psychiatry of NY accepts the following commercial health insurances: Empire Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Aetna, Cigna Behavioral Health. Co-pays are due at the time of the visit.

For patients who do not have the above insurances it is a fee-for-service practice. A list of procedure fees is available in the office upon your request. Payment by cash, check, or credit card is appreciated at the time of the visit. Before making an appointment, you may want to inquire about your insurer's deductible, co-pays, and reimbursement rates for in-network and out-of-network services by using a special form provided to you at the initial telephone contact with us.
